Menus break your rhythm. The Momentum Dial puts editing actions beside the clip you have selected. This tutorial runs four Dial actions on one timeline clip.
Steps
- Open the Dial on a clip. Open the Momentum Dial on a timeline clip. Its editing actions stay next to the selection instead of in a menu bar.
- Split at the playhead. Choose Split. Open the Dial again to see the actions available for the new selection.
- Duplicate and Nudge. Try Duplicate, then Nudge the selected clip. A single frame can change the spacing, so watch the timeline while you do it.
- Ripple Delete. Ripple Delete removes the selected section and shifts the following clips back. Review the surrounding edit before moving on.
Notes
- The recording opens the Dial through its Open Dial accessibility action rather than a physical force click. The Dial actions themselves are the real app commands.
- In the recording, Nudge moves the clip by one frame and the Ripple Delete that follows removes six seconds, which leaves one frame of spacing. That is why the narration asks you to review the surrounding edit.
