A cut that feels slightly late is a trim away from right. This tutorial covers the five trim moves in the cinemaOS Sequencer: razor, ripple, roll, slip and slide.
Steps
- Razor. Press C for the Razor and click the clip to cut it. Make a second cut to create a middle section.
- Ripple and roll. Press B for ripple trimming, then B again for rolling. Nudge the edit with the arrow keys and watch the cut change in the viewer.
- Slip. Option-drag to slip the source inside the clip. The clip's timeline position and duration stay the same; only the frames inside change.
- Slide. Option Command-drag to slide the clip between its neighbours. The adjacent edges move with it while the clip keeps its duration and source frames.
- Review in motion. Play both cuts. Keep the timing that serves the scene.
Notes
- In the recording the slide moves the middle clip to a start of 12:01 while its duration (10:00) and source in point (21:03) stay unchanged. That is how you can tell a slide from a slip in the inspector.
