Tell it what you're making
Open HOME with Shift Command H, pick the Cut a film tile and let cinemaOS open the editing workspace around that task.

Too many starting points? HOME in cinemaOS asks what you want to make and opens the right workspace for it. This tutorial starts a film edit from the Cut a film tile.
Steps
- Open HOME. Press Shift Command H. Start with what you want to make rather than with a blank timeline.
- Choose a tile. HOME shows sixteen tiles, each a different starting point. For this scene, choose the tile described as Cut a film.
- Work in the task workspace. The editing workspace opens around that task. The scene you imported earlier is still part of the same project.
- Continue from the timeline. Review the clip and carry on editing. The starting choice gives you a useful place to work, not a locked template.
Notes
- Other HOME tiles start other jobs in the same project, for example Import a cut and Dub. See Bring a cut, hand it back.
