Starting should be simple. This tutorial creates a fresh project in cinemaOS, imports one scene and places it on the timeline, so you have a real starting point for the edit.

Steps

  1. Create a new project. Choose New in the Project Gate and give the tutorial its own project. Keep the project format matched to the footage you plan to edit.
  2. Import the scene. Use Import Media, or press Command I, and select the scene. The clip appears in the bin, ready to use.
  3. Place the clip on the timeline. Drag the clip from the bin onto the Main Timeline. Picture and sound arrive together as linked V1 and A1 tracks. Move the playhead to the moment you want to review.
  4. Play and check the first shot. Play the sequence and look at the first shot in the programme viewer. One fresh project, and your first cut starts here.

Notes

  • The recording uses a fresh cinemaOS 0.2 Build 9 project and the bridge scene from Tears of Steel.
  • Dragging a bin clip onto the Main Timeline tab creates linked V1 and A1 tracks in one move.
