Rebuilding a cut by hand? cinemaOS imports an XML or EDL, conforms it against your media and exports it again for another application. This tutorial imports a five-edit sample and hands it back.
Steps
- Import the cut. Open HOME, choose Import a cut and select your XML or EDL. The authored sample used here contains five edits.
- Read the conform report. Check whether the media is online and the edits are preserved. Keep any warnings with the project.
- Check the sequence. Play the imported sequence against your reference. Check cut points, source frames and linked audio before handing it on.
- Export FCPXML or EDL. Export, then read the saved report: audio roles, timecode and track layout can need attention.
- Watch Task Center. Task Center (Option Command 0) shows the background media jobs. Keep the export report, then check the cut in the receiving application. That is a reviewed handoff.
Notes
- The sample is an authored FCP7 XML and EDL, not a Premiere export. The native export reports note that audio roles and the sequence clock are approximated and that the EDL drops the track layout. Verify the result in the receiving application.
