One design rarely fits every place it has to go. In the Layout room each delivery size can be its own page with its own arrangement. This tutorial turns one portrait design into a vertical, a square and a four-by-five page and exports the set.
Steps
- Duplicate the page. In Layout, use Duplicate Page so each delivery size keeps a separate composition. Select the page you want to change.
- Set the format. Open Page Size and choose 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5. Do this once per page, so you end up with a vertical, a square and a four-by-five page.
- Rearrange each page. Resize the image frame and its backing shape with Width and Height. Keep the circular portrait round, then move the title so it has room around it.
- Export each page. Choose Deliver and This Aspect for each finished page. Each export is the composition you designed for that size.
- Export one PDF. Use PDF Snapshot with Document page selected to get one file with all three pages, each at its own size. Check the images and every PDF page, then save the project.
Notes
- The lesson uses separate pages and Page Size. An earlier attempt with Adapt on the square page did not give the right result and is not part of the lesson.
- Values in the project: the image frame is resized to 860 by 860 px and the backing shape to 940 by 940 px.
- The first and last shots show the exported PNG and PDF files, labelled as export results.
- The photographs are generated assets from the TUSSENIN demonstration project, owned by Momentum Studios.
