Two shots that do not sit together? Shot Match in cinemaOS brings a shot towards a reference still. This tutorial matches a scene to a still and shows where your own judgement still comes in.
Steps
- Choose a reference. Pick a still that represents the look you want. Check that it is a useful reference for this particular shot.
- Open Match. Open COLOR SETUP and choose Match. Select the still as the reference on the color rail.
- Apply and compare. Apply the match and compare it with the original picture. Check skin, contrast and the brightest parts of the frame.
- Refine. Adjust the result for this shot. A reference is a direction; the final judgement stays with you.
- Review the sequence. Bring the shots closer, then play the sequence to confirm they cut together.
Notes
- The recording selects the reference through the built-in reference picker rather than by dragging the still onto the color rail.
