Check your look before you trust it. The Lab in the cinemaOS Grade room shows a LUT as a three-dimensional cube, so you can see irregularities that a picture alone would hide. This tutorial inspects a look, repairs it and exports it.
Steps
- Load the look. Open Grade, then Lab, and load the look you want to inspect.
- Orbit the cube. Orbit the three-dimensional view to examine the colour mapping from different angles. Look for abrupt changes or irregular structure.
- Repair artifacts. Use Repair artifacts on the selected look. Compare the repaired version against the starting point and against the picture itself.
- Export a .cube file. Export the result as a .cube file when it is ready. Keep the original and the repaired version clearly named.
- Judge it on the image. Inspect the transform, then decide on the footage.
Notes
- In the recording the repair strength is 55 percent. Both the original and the repaired exports contain 2,197 colour nodes; only the values differ.
