Subtitles without uploads. The cinemaOS Localize room transcribes and translates on your Mac. This tutorial generates English captions, translates them into French with Wi-Fi switched off, and exports the result.
Steps
- Open Localize, then Captions. Start with the source captions. In the recording Wi-Fi is switched off before the French translation step.
- Generate source captions. Choose Auto Detect to find the spoken language and generate the source captions.
- Review before translating. Read the words and the timing. Fix anything that is wrong now, because the translation follows the source.
- Translate locally. Select French, then use Translate Local to run the translation on this Mac.
- Compare both languages. Turn on Bilingual to see the English and French lines together.
- Export. Export an SRT for a separate subtitle file, or choose Burn In to render the subtitles into the picture. One scene, two languages, ready for your final review.
Notes
- The Wi-Fi off interval covers the translation step and is recorded as evidence in the production notes. The earlier source transcription was not part of that interval.
